Hearty Plates

 

Every hearty plate will be served with your choice of two sides.

 

Chicken Fried Steak or Chicken Fried Chicken:

Fork tender, hand breaded, fried to golden perfection.  Served with your choice of white or brown gravy.

 

Smothered Steak:

Fresh ground beef (8 oz), char-broiled and smothered in mushrooms, sautéed onions, and brown gravy. 

 

Mashed-Potato Meatloaf:

Comfort foods combined! Our flavorful meatloaf piled high with freshly made mashed potatoes. Everything drizzled with brown gravy. 

 

Chicken Breast:

Juicy, tender chicken breast (6 oz). Char-broiled or hand-breaded & deep fried, your choice. 

 

Pork Chop (1 or 2), char-broiled or deep fried:

How do you like your chop? Char-broiled or hand-breaded & fried? 

 

Ham Steak:

This generous slab of ham is deliciously char-broiled.

 

Popcorn Chicken:

Young and old alike love our hand-breaded, deep fried, juicy-tender chunks of chicken breast! 

 

Liver and Onions:

Beef liver, fried on our grill with a generous portion of sautéed onions. Served with brown gravy. 

 

Sandwiches

 

Each sandwich served with your choice of one side.

 

Build Your Own Burger:

1 patty with 2 toppings or 2 patties with 2 toppings

Toppings: sautéed onions, Dad’s chili, jalapeno chips,  2 bacon slices, cheese, sautéed mushrooms, Kevin’s chili, fritos, 2 onion rings.  Small additional cost if you want more toppings!

 

Plain Old Hamburger:

1 patty char-grilled, with lettuce, pickle, tomato, and onion.  Additional cost for a slice of cheese

 

Grilled Cheese:

Creamy American cheese melted between two slices of grilled Texas Toast.   For an additional cost we’ll put a juicy slice of ham in your grilled cheese.

 

Char-broiled Chicken Sandwich:

Char-broiled chicken breast sandwiched by Texas toast. Served with lettuce, mayo, and tomato. Add bacon for a small additional amount.

 

BLT: 

What a treat! We pile 6 slices of bacon on lightly grilled Texas toast, then add mayo, lettuce, tomato & pickle. 

 

Soup-of-the-Day:  Bowl or Cup 

 

MONDAY

DAD’S “MEAL-IN-A-BOWL” CHILI:

Our family loves this savory chili with a tasty blend of beans, ground beef, corn & spices.

 

TUESDAY

MARY’S STAND-IN-LINE-GOOD CHICKEN TORTILLA SOUP:

The line to the soup pot is always long when Mary brings this Tortilla Soup to a party!

 

WEDNESDAY

BACON & BEAN SOUP:

Bacon and navy beans simmered in a smoky ham broth with veggies.

 

THURSDAY

BEEF STEW:

Pot roast dinner, transformed into a comforting stew. Served with a dinner roll.

 

FRIDAY

BROCCOLI & CHEESE SOUP:

Creamy cheese broth and steamed broccoli with just enough spices sprinkled with cheese.

 

SATURDAY

GRANDMA ESTHER’S POTATO SOUP:

We simmer potatoes, celery, onion & spices until the flavor is just right, then we add our creamy broth and sprinkle with cheese.

 

Fresh & Filling Salads

 

NOW THAT’S A TACO SALAD!:

We toss together salad greens, taco meat, pintos, black olives, cheese, tomato, corn, crushed corn chips and our ranch & salsa dressing. Beef or chicken.

  

GRILLED CHICKEN SALAD:

Start with a fresh garden salad, top it with flavorful chicken right off the grill, some crumbled bacon & grated cheese, and you have a wonderful tasty lunch!  

 

GARDEN SALAD:

A refreshing choice. This big bowl of crisp salad greens, tomato, & grated cheese with your choice of dressing.  

 

FRESH FRUIT SALAD:

Our fruit salad varies according to which flavorful fresh fruit is available.
